This divine treatment is intended to help you to open your spiritual and emotional heart and clear the head with deep relaxation. The treatment begins with a Hridaya basti during with the heart center is bathed in warm herbal oil for 20 minutes. The heart center is such an important part of the body. In ayurvedic thought the heart is like a diamond filled with the dazzling light of vital energy (prana or ojas) which is responsible for our existence and activities. The heart is both an incredibly subtle and powerful organ responsible for our connection with ourselves and others and also the mind in its deepest sense. As such it holds a lot! The hridaya basti helps release what can make the heart heavy and provide new strength to the spiritual and emotional heart and the mind. Abhyanga is an ayurvedic massage during which the body is covered with warm oils that have been specifically selected and infused with herbs to suit your needs. Special attention is paid to feet, head and face. A deeply relaxing experience. After the abhyanga we sweat the body with a treatment called churna swedena. Hot herb filled boluses are used to rub the body down. This dilates the pores and channels of the body allowing the toxins that have been liquified and loosened during the abhyanga to be released and disposed of. Then onto the clearing of the head. Nasya is a cleansing technique of panchakarma by which special herbal oil is dropped into each nostril. This is followed by a facial steam and a massage of the face, head and neck. Nasya is thought to be good for all manner of issues related to the head and neck. It promotes clarity of mind and sight relaxation of the mind and the areas of the face, neck (throat chakra), jaw and eyes and frees the breath. All this followed by a full body steam to allow the medicated oil to continue its work and to unstick toxins of varios kinds from the body's channels.
